Kate Cartwright's Goddess Art
Labyrinth
This labyrinth pattern came from a coin found in Knossos, Crete (1st millennium BCE). Maze patterns are part of the motif of the Goddess as weaver and spinner. In the Navaho tradition it is Spider Woman who maintains the universe by her spinning and weaving activity. In another tradition the Fates or Moirai weave together the past, present and future in the thread of time they hold for each of us, our destiny or fate.
